What does independence mean to you?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 04, 2008:
Independence?
Freedom.
I can recall a time as a young adolescent when I yearned for independence. Back then it meant not living with my parents and following their rules. Strange thing about independence. It's like a lot of other things..."Be careful what you ask for...you just might get it." Now I miss my folks and long to be back in the fold. I yearn to be cared for and not have the grown up worries that come along with independence and adulthood.
Freedom comes with a price.
Are you willing to pay the price?
